| Wow, so it's been a really long time since I've posted anything on xanga. I've been into facebook now so my time and energy is spent there. However, my summer has been amazing. I went to Myanmar for 16 days, then flew to Grand Rapids to begin another mission trip with the step team that I was on. This trip was 2 weeks of training then 16 days on the road traveling to 10 different states along the east coast. Then I visited my family in Saginaw for a week, went camping with mom and dad in Ludington for 4 days, flew to Nashville for Lisa and Dusty's wedding, and finally came back to Tulsa last Sunday night (July 15th). I'm now in Tulsa for the remainder of the summer and throughout the next school year. I'm excited to be back. I'm so exhausted from all the travel. Although it has been an intense summer, it has been well worth it. God has taught me so much through the joys, the pains, the sacrifices, and the unforgetable moments. I can actually feel myself changing. Thank God for the maturing process. Thank God that He puts us through the fire to become more pure. | | |
| Tommorrow begins our week-long training at a campground a few hours away from Tulsa. All teams will participate in what they call "Ropes." It's a bunch of team-building activities to prepare you for the mission field. I'm really excited. Once we return from this preparation, our flight leaves Tulsa on Monday, May 14th in the evening. We'll stay 2 weeks and fly back on May 29th. Please pray for us while we're there. I'll be playing piano, singing for worship, giving my testimony to several churches, and directing the drama I put together. It's going to be intense and action-packed. I keep looking to God for my rest and peace of mind. He is the only One that makes me secure in what I'm about to do. Pray for our safety and health as well. I'm really excited to see what God is going to do on this particular mission trip. It'll be very different from the others I've been on. Our team includes: Marcus Streater, Melissa Miller, Jordan Olsen, Caron Smith, Dwight James, Adrian Daniels, Vonie Austin-James, Steven Hamilton, Sameh Barsoum, myself, and our professor, Dr. Chin Do Kham (who's a native of Myanmar). Thank you for your prayers, concern, and support. I love you all! :) | | |
| School is almost over (exam week) and then we leave for our trip. I have all the finances raised - Praise God. He proved His great faithfulness once again. :) | | |
| So, the ultimate deadline for my mission trip to Myanmar is this Friday. Our plane tickets will be purchased today (Wed) which I have enough for. I'm so excited to go to Myanmar! We'll be ministering among the churches since it's illegal to publicly evangelize. The government expelled all missionaries several years ago and haven't allowed them back into the country since. Our job will be to encourage the current Christians in the churches, to strengthen the leaders, and to offer teaching, preaching, and healing to those who are hurting and hungry for the Word. I've choreographed a drama that I taught my team and also a step routine that we'll do for the churches. Many on our team are gifted in preaching and teaching. We'll have a few different conferences for leaders, women, youth, and so on. I'll be participating in worship/music specials as well. I'm so excited to be able to use so many giftings that Lord has given me. I get to use them in another country! It's such an honor! And I'm learning a lot through my role as the Assistant Team Leader. It's such a great experience to serve under my Team Leader. He's an amazing man of God.
On another note, I'm moving once again. I will not be living in the house I'm currently in beginning May 6th (which is the day before I leave for Myanmar). God has yet to show me where I'll be moving to when I get back from my trips (July 15). He's stretching my faith once again and drawing me closer to Him. This will be location #4 since I first moved to Tulsa in August. Ahh, the joys of complete dependence on Him. We'll see what happens this time. I know I'm in His perfect will so He will always provide. :) Nothing beats knowing Him....
| I've been so busy transitioning from getting back from Israel, getting ready for exams, and preparing to leave for Myanmar (Burma). I'm going back to Asia from May 13 - May 28 with ORU, this time to a country formerly known as Burma. It's in Southeast Asia. I have a good amount of my money raised; however, the rest is due this Monday. I still need $800 by Monday, April 22. If you want to be a part of this, please let me know as soon as possible!
My life has been so busy these past few weeks. It's incredible what the Lord has shown me and taught me through it all. The school year is almost over. This is our last week of school before exams and then the year is over. I'll be traveling a lot this summer becase I'm on a step team that is taking a tour of the east coast. We'll travel to about 10 different states to perform step routines, give testimonies, altar calls, and minister to people. It's going to be great. I can't wait to see what God will do in us and through us!! He has proven to be so faithful! Just this morning, I received $600 toward my Myanmar mission trip which now leaves me with only $800 more to go! Praise God! :)
Thanks for all your prayers and support!
